Meeting Overview

The business meeting was called to order by President K Holmes at 10:30 AM. Chaplain Wayne Hawn delivered the opening and closing prayer, and the business session was officially declared open.

No reports submitted.

3. Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes

Secretary J Schrock presented the minutes from the previous meeting (distributed via email).

Bible Study Zoom Expansion

Discussion on expanding the Bible Study group to Zoom for increased accessibility.

Additional Notes:

  • Kenny will develop new promotional flyers.
  • A program to donate ten (10) bikes annually is being organized through an anonymous donor. Vicki will serve as Chair.
  • Committee Chairs are encouraged to designate a representative if unable to attend meetings.

Battle of the Bands Update

  • Currently only one (1) band registered.
  • Additional participants are needed.
  • Promotional materials still pending delivery to Mike Davis.

Upcoming Event: Bear Trivia Night

Location: Monterrey Mexican Bar, 507 E McKinley Ave, Mishawaka
Date: Thursday, March 26
Time: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM

  • Taco bar available for participants
  • FreedomSystem.org table reserved under Jenn’s name
  • Attendance discussed among members

Summer BBQ Planning

  • Event will remain informal (no formal committee)
  • Rhonda (Elkhart County Parks & Recreation) has offered Ox-Bow Park
  • Entry fees will be waived for Veterans

Poker Tournament

Location: Syracuse Eagles, 12889 Kern Rd
Date: Saturday, April 11
Time: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM

  • Board members encouraged to attend in rotating shifts
  • Scheduling to be coordinated via Teams (3-hour increments)
  • Funds collection logistics to be finalized with Cami

Veterans Baseball Program

  • Decision made to participate in an existing City Park League
  • A separate FreedomSystem.org league will not be created
  • Discussion included potential one-day Veteran vs. Veteran event
  • Possibility of fielding two teams

Common Veterans Podcast

  • Next episode will include video for the first time
  • Equipment has arrived and setup is in progress
  • Introduction of “Common Veterans Minute” — a daily one-minute segment from hosts
