The business meeting was held at the Short Stop, Wakarusa Ind. The meeting started at 3 PM and the meeting was opened in due form by President K Holmes.

President K Holmes gave the opening (and closing) prayer.

President K Holmes declared the business session open.

  1. Roll call of Officers: Completed by Secretary Jeff Schrock.
  2. Reading of Membership Applications: No Report(s)
  3. Reading of the minutes: Secretary J Schrock read (emailed) the minutes from the last meeting, and asked if there were any corrections or amendments. M Kauffman noted two (2) things that need to be changed. One (1) when the recall roster was edited (to remove two (2) personnel) his information had accidently been dropped. The other was in last month’s minutes, he was noted for being the Volunteer Coordinator again. This should have been A O’Toole. E. Dir S Holmes made a motion to accept the minutes as read. V.P. F Schlorke seconded the motion and the motion passed.
  4. Treasurers Report: Treasurer A O’Toole reported that TCU has $10,538; Stripe has $919; and Pay Pal is unknown at this time. H/R Dir J Schrock made a motion to accept the report, subject to audit. E Dir S Holmes seconded the motion, and the motion passed.
  5. Bills: E Dir S Holmes made a motion to suspend the reading of the bills.  VP F Schlorke seconded the motion, and the motion passed.

Unfinished Business:

1) President K Holmes brought up the on-going FSO Podcast. He and Secretary J Schrock have two (2) episodes “in the can”. The third one is planned for this coming Monday. Once season one is done, they’ll be uploaded to One-Drive and edited. Once that is done, they can be posted on the web. Ten (10) episodes are planned per season. 2) President K Holmes brought up the fundraising dinner in May (20th). Sponsorship Letters; Sarah & Jenn have planned on meeting next week to accomplish the letter (and listing). Tier Levels: The dollar amount levels have changed, but not the “swag” per level. $2,000, $1,000 and $750 (see S Holmes for details per level). 95.3 will “sponsor” the event again. FSO will spend $3,000 through Federated Media (David Robertson) and will get $6,000 in return (advertising, Casey Hendrickson will be the speaker again, and will include FSO President being on a radio spot. Last year, there was a glitch. The Bike Jerseys were given away; however, not attributed to FSO and our mountain biking program. Underwriting Letter(s): Sarah, Jenn & Lauren. Need to set the date for a meeting to “put pen to paper” to accomplish this task. L Zeugner suggested asking Kevin Deary about this, asking for help to either do it or suggestions on how to write it. For those who would like to attend, President K Holmes and E Dir S Holmes have a meeting planned w/Kevin. Monday, February 27th, 5 PM, at Wings Etc on CR-6 (Elkhart). H/R Dir J Schrock said he’d attend too. Some of the action items had a suggested dollar amount set down. Food – $2,000, last year’s Tony’s bill was around $1,300; beverages (from the VFW) unknown; Music – E Dir S Holmes made a motion to hire Sam Brown (for music). Media Coord L Zeugner seconded the motion, and the motion passed. (easy listening – prior to and during dinner. D.J. after dinner (Sam Brown) $600; Weapons – to be auctioned off $800+ (last year was just over $800); Merch: new shirt designs $300; ball caps $100; key chains, polo’s, challenge coins (coins only $500), hoodies (both pull over and zip-up $200); glasses (on the rocks & shot) get a cost per to include etching, may hire out – may do ourselves; leather bracelets (Adam); leather wallets (per branch of service, Adam) can burn logo’s (or FS logo) onto them; water bottles were also discussed – may not be feasible due to overall costs. Food – J Schrock two (2) meats, Chicken and Steak (whatever steak is “on sale” at the time of the dinner in May), green beans, roll(s), salad (Ranch or French), red potatoes, brownies and cookies w/Carmel, Chocolate or Strawberry swirl (on each table). Attire/Uniform(s) – will be black FS polo and jeans. Beverage(s) – will be a keg of Blue Moon. Drink Special (via VP F Schlorke), Vodka and Cranberry w/twist of lime. Coffee will hopefully be donated by Black Rifle Coffee, they will send a promo sign/rack along with it. 3) J Schlorke brought up the upcoming bike ride/BBQ in June (24th), wanting more details. Sarah, Fred & Jenn will plan the BBQ portion, while Kenny, Adam and Tony plan the bike trail ride. Jeff will assist w/set up, cooking, serving and clean-up for the BBQ portion. Everybody meets at Bonneville at 4PM, BBQ around 5:30. Food will be for the vets (and their families), not anybody who shows up. Tony or Adam need to contact Bonneville Mills (Elkhart Co Parks) and reserve a pavilion.

New Business: No Report(s)

Good of the Order: 1) President K Holmes asked A Buoscio about any IT related matters. A lengthy discussion ensued, topics including (but not limited to) One-Drive (is everything on it, and assessible to BoD’s, etc.); BoD account’s (are they all accessible, sign-in/out, etc.); A O’Toole’s laptop problems. Treasurer A O’Toole’s laptop charger damaged the port and we may need to pull the drive out to download FS data – pending item for Tony (A Buoscio).

Next Meeting: Saturday, 11 March, 3 PM at Holmes’s house. Saturday, 15 April, 3 PM, at Holmes’s house. Saturday, 13 May, 3 PM, at the Goshen VFW. Saturday, 17 June, 3 PM, at the Short Stop in Wakarusa, for the after-action report.

President K Holmes asked if there was any further business. Seeing none, H/R Dir J Schrock made a motion to adjourn the meeting and V.P. F Schlorke seconded the motion. The motion passed.

President K Holmes gave the closing prayer and the meeting was adjourned.

J Schrock
