FreedomSystem.org (FSO) Veterans 13U Baseball Team Code of Ethics and Conduct

As members of the FSO Veterans 13U Baseball Team, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, sportsmanship, and respect on and off the field. This Code of Conduct outlines our expectations for every player, coach, parent, and supporter associated with our team.

1. Integrity and Sportsmanship:
   1. Honesty: We value honesty and expect all team members to act with integrity. Cheating, lying, or any form of dishonesty will not be tolerated.
   2. Fair Play: We play by the rules and respect the spirit of the game. Unsportsmanlike conduct, including trash-talking, taunting, or aggressive behavior, is unacceptable.
   3. Accountability: We take responsibility for our actions and their consequences. Blaming others or making excuses is not part of our team culture.
2. Academic Excellence:
   1. Commitment to Studies: We understand that academic success is a priority. Players must maintain good grades and fulfill their academic responsibilities.
   2. Time Management: Balancing sports and academics is crucial. Players should manage their time effectively to excel in both areas.
   3. Support and Encouragement: Coaches, parents, and teammates will provide support and encouragement to help players succeed academically.
3. Respect for All:
   1. Respect for Teammates: We treat our teammates with respect and kindness.
   2. Respect for Coaches: We listen to and respect our coaches’ guidance and decisions. Disagreements should be handled privately and respectfully.
   3. Respect for Opponents: We treat our opponents with respect, both on and off the field. Winning or losing, we display good sportsmanship. ALWAYS!
   4. Respect for Officials: We respect the authority and decisions of game officials, understanding that they play a crucial role in the game.
   5. Respect for Parents and Supporters: Parents and supporters are essential to our team’s success. We appreciate their involvement and respect their roles.
4. Personal Conduct:
   1. Role Models: Players and coaches are role models for younger athletes. We strive to set a positive example through our actions and words.
   2. Social Media Use: Responsible and respectful use of social media is expected. Negative or harmful online behavior reflects poorly on the team.
   3. Alcohol and Drug Use: The use of alcohol, tobacco, or illegal drugs is strictly prohibited. It jeopardizes the team’s reputation and safety.
   4. Team Spirit: We support our teammates and foster a positive team spirit. Encouraging and uplifting each other is part of our culture.
5. Consequences: Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary actions, including warnings, suspensions, or removal from the team, depending on the severity of the offense. Coaches and team leaders will address violations on a case-by-case basis.
