Happy Thanksgiving from everyone here at FreedomSystem.org! We want you to remember that today is not all about the Turkey! Thanksgiving is not about Veterans; however, we at FreedomSystem.org are very thankful for our soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen! Thanksgiving is about being thankful to God for the abundance that He has given to us as a nation! It is about being able to look across the aisle and say, “You know what – I am thankful for you!”
This is the excerpt from History.com:
“In 1621, the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Indians shared an autumn harvest feast that is acknowledged today as one of the first Thanksgiving celebrations in the colonies. For more than two centuries, days of thanksgiving were celebrated by individual colonies and states. It wasn’t until 1863, in the midst of the Civil War, that President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national Thanksgiving Day to be held each November.”
As you can see it is about the people being Thankful for the fall harvest! The colonists and the Native Americans were able to spread their love to one another and break bread together as well! 1621, we need to find that idea that was there and implement it into our political system and actually be happy for the freedoms that we have here in America!
As an American we need to come together to be thankful for everything that we have! We need to be thankful for the love that we have; the truth that we can share; and the peace that can come from within.
As a Christian we need to come together and thank the Lord for the great bounty that He always gives us! Even if we have nothing He always comes through, and never gives us anything more than we can handle in our life! I thank God for everything that He has given me! I thank God every day for all of you that are reading this and sharing it with your friends!
Finally I am thankful for our families! Remember family isn’t just blood – it is who we put our faith in and share our joys with!
